BEFORE:
Problem: Side yard needed work to bring it up to the beautiful standards of the rest of the house, and to repair damaged lawn
AFTER:
Solution: Create a new bed along the fence and add some boulders and shrubs. A Magnolia tree was added and fresh sod to complete the look.
BEFORE:
Problem: As you can see from these photos, this landscape is in disrepair - badly overgrown and blocking views from the windows. The bed by the driveway is a hodge-podge of half-dead plants that looks disorganized and unattractive.
AFTER:
Solution: Start Over! Replaced all of the shrubs in the front with a pleasing ebb and flow of shrubs and perennials of various shapes and textures. The bed by the driveway was given a facelift by planting a neat row of wine and rose weigelas which will have pink trumpet like flowers throughout the summer, and has beautiful burgundy leaves.
BEFORE:
Problem: The natural display of rocks under a tree to the side of the backyard was not featured at all…it was filled with crushed stone and bordered with dilapidated brick and full of weeds. It felt disconnected from the rest of the yard. It is also a play area for the kids so the design had to be simple.
AFTER:
Solution: Remove the crushed stone and brick and add ferns and irises. Add hemlock mulch for a nice clean look and cut in a landscape border that flows and connects with the rest of the landscape.
